Nowadays, no doubt bathing is cleaning our bodies only. But it is not only cleansing the physical body, but also the spiritual self. Through bath, we can refurbish the balance of mind, body, and spirit. It also enhances physical energy levels, improves mental clarity, removes environmental toxins from the skin and helps relax the mind and balance the emotions. Most of us make serious mistakes when it comes to bathing, even though we bathe every day. These common fallacies affect our bodies and mind equally. It should be borne in mind some facts in bath time.
One, bathing after eating can interfere with our digestion. According to Ayurveda, when we eat food, our stomach energy in jatharagni is powerful. Our body absorbs and assimilates maximum at that time. Yet, if you have a bath after the meal, this heat has been reduced. As a result, Our digestion system becomes fragile, and it interferes with our eupeptic, at least 2 hours gap between meal and bath. Do not forget that first thing bath and then have breakfast in the morning.

Two, we must take a shower in normal water because it helps to increase your energy level and boosts your immunity. Especially after a workout, we should have a bath only with normal water as it helps in reducing your muscle pain and inflammation. We can add little hot water in winter. Also, in summer, add have a little cold water. Warm water dries out our skin as well as hair loss. In addition, it increases our high blood pressure along with hypertension heart problems. It is always better to draw our bath according to our Dosha(mind-body type) — both Vata and Kapha should opt for a warm bath, whilst Pittas should opt for a cold bath.
Three, Individually, have an awful habit of douse right away after the workout. We ought to calm down our hearts afterwards activity. That’s why we give 20 minutes to settle down our bodies. Let us not forget, the bath itself is an exercise. For our own sleeves, suppose to relax for 10-15 minutes before starting other activities next to shower.

Four, water can supersaturate our skin which causes our skin damage, along with it also weakens our hair follicle causing hair loss. So, we should not spend more than 10 minutes in the shower.
Five, many of used to wash their hair frequently since pollution. People believe that they are protecting and strengthen their hair. However, it is an inappropriate practice for shampooing every day, which can take off our scalp moisture. Personally, shampoo only once or twice a week through a natural shampoo than a chemical-based shampoo. We must avoid those shampoos which, contains paraben and sulphate compounds.

Six, we need to take special care of our feet, as sweaty as other parts of our body. The first thing, we should rub our sole properly with a pumice stone or a brush when we go for a bath. We not only rub our feet but also massage our feet and the rest of our bodies nicely. Massage activates our entire body’s nerves.
Seven, the best way to dip that takes a small Turkish towel or napkin, wet it with water properly to scrub throughout our body. Soap should be applied only in the sweaty area, like the armpit, groin and foot. Without help, put in shower gel/Ubtan/homemade soap/ herbal soap all over the body instead of soap.

Eight, we should link our body and mind well while bathing. Bathing has always been considered a healing ritual, not just for the body, but for the spirit.
Ayurveda recommends a daily bath early in the morning and sunset. Ayurveda encourages us to oil our heads, feet and ears every day earlier in our bath. It will help to improve circulation.
